GRIEF INTENSITY SCALE

This Grief Intensity Scale assesses common thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of people who have lost someone important to them.

Did the person whom you are grieving die of COVID-19?

1. Do you feel yourself longing or yearning for the person who died?

2. Do you feel confused about your role in life or feel like you don’t know who you are (i.e., feeling that a part of yourself has died)?

3. Do you have trouble believing that the person who died is truly gone?

4. Do you avoid reminders that the person who died is truly gone?

5. Do you feel emotional pain, sorrow, or pangs of grief about the death?

6. Do you feel that it is difficult to move on with life (e.g., problems engaging with friends, pursuing interests, planning for the furture)?

7. Do you feel emotionally numb or detatched?

8. Do you feel that life is meaningless without the person who died?

9. Do you feel alone, lonely, or detached from others?

Did the person whom you are grieving die at least 12 months ago?
